When I started the IGNITE unit

Here are photos of my mind maps. When stating out I originally was unsure if I wanted to do ethics or study the foods of my heritage. The first picture is a mind map of my prior knowledge about the 2 topics. As you can see I had more prior knowledge about the foods of my heritage than ethics. This is why I decided to study the foods of my heritage instead of ethics. The second picture is a mind map of open ended questions. This is what I used as a guide to help me focus my study.

Going Online

Going online for me was not a challenge. This is because I had planned to use a website to produce my final product. I had found it much easier since I could use my time in class to cook the recipes for my project. Instead of cooking the recipes for homework outside of school hours. This is why I found going online much easier compared to staying offline. This is also helping me build my final product since I have access to my aunties cookbooks which have helped me make the recipes. Overall, going online was very beneficial to me.

Finishing the project

Finishing this IGNITE unit was easy. I am very relieved that this is all over now. I feel very proud of my work and I feel like I have completed my work to a good standard. To complete this project I had to overcome several issues like layering, which occurs when too many objects are placed in the layer. Formatting, which was a constant problem and finally, the bar at the top of the screen which can take you to different pages kept on blending into the text on screen I could not find a solution without having to significantly changing the design of the website so I gave up due to time constraints. However, I was able to find a solution to every other problem I had. If I did this project differently I would try changing the design so the bar at the top won't blend into the text on screen. I have learn't that I am able to work well under time constraints and that I like learning in a practical environment. Overall, I am proud of my work and It has been completed to a great standard.
